Ha Long, Vietnam

We had a fabulous lunch of various fresh food...


Went kayaking around a floating village...


Had cooking class (Vietnamese spring rolls)...


Enjoyed some swimming, had a wonderful dinner, and sang a bit of Karaoke (only a bit, lol).

Day 1: Success!

It poured rain most all of the night. The thunder was WAAYYY too close for comfort many times!

It was a comfortable sleep, though :) Delicious morning coffee, with a view...



Breakfast as we cruised...


Then off to Ha Long caves (Awesome; a whole new world inside the islands) and Ti Top island for a hike...


Another amazing meal for lunch and then back to the port to head back to Hanoi.

Tonight's agenda includes a water puppet show and whatever else we find along the way :)

Hanoi, Vietnam

Well, after a pit stop in Vancouver, a 13-hour flight to Guangzhou, China, and a few hours to Hanoi, we arrived in Vietnam at the Charming Hotel just after midnight. It was quite a nice room (even with flush toilets!) and only $18!

Then it was time to head to Ha Long Bay for "junk" (boat trip).
